So.  My computer is dead.  D-E-D, dead.  As in, will not turn on, will not boot, will not do nothing.  Until I replace it, I have very limited access to the internet and my scanner will not speak to anything other than the computer that died, so I cannot scan.  As soon as I find the appropriate driver and get things up and running again, I resume this challenge (but I will not make up the lost days).  I'm leaving the original part of the journal up, but don't expect anything for about a week.

So I gave up sweets for Lent this year.  Not only did I give up things that are obviously sweets (like cake, cookies, ice cream, and peeps... oh god, I gave up peeps!), but I gave up soda (because of the high sugars and the caffiene), and I gave up fast food (pretty much anything with a drive thru).  So, obviously, I'm going to be having some pretty severe cravings here pretty soon (I already have that caffiene headache).  To keep my mind off things, and to prove that I can still be productive, I've decided to produce one piece of artwork for every day of Lent.

The Rules:
1. I must complete one piece of artwork per day.
2. I do not have to complete the artwork on the same day I begin it--I can work ahead for those pieces I know will take more than one day to finish.
3. All artwork must be new--I cannot complete an image that was begun before Lent and count it for one of my days.
4. A complete image must be colored.  I may chose any medium to color it with and my coloring job can look like a third-grader did it, but it must be colored.
5. Barring unforseen technical difficulties, I must submit the art to DeviantArt to prove I've done it.

I've also created a new folder for all the artwork done in this challenge so they can be viewed all at once when I'm done.

Wow!  So for the first time in years, I finally clean this account up and upload my new stuff, and immediately I get four favorites, three requests to add certain pieces to a group collection, and a comment!  I am feeling extremely loved, so thanks to everyone who noticed my art and loved it.

I'm so excited about it that now I'm going to get up off my butt and go color something!

I find it amusing that one of the fashion design pieces that I am least proud of is also the piece that people seem to like best (judging by how often people favorite it).  Perhaps I should draw more stuff in that style...  Or at least attempt to perfect the look.

On another note, my art computer is finally set up and running but I am now overwhelmed by school work so I still don't get to spend as much time on art as I would like to.  If it's not one thing, it something else.  Tis the story of my life, I guess.

It's been a very long time since I've updated this thing.  I have no new interesting things to post (I suppose I could throw on my best photos from Japan but I won't just yet because I'm lazy) but that does not mean I have not been drawing.  It simply means that a new computer and hurried transfer resulted in 1) no scanner, 2) no art program, and 3) a generally dissatisfied Is-ness.

On to other things:  Around deviantart there are several users that are doing the 100 word challenge.  Basically you pick 100 words and you represent each one in an individual art piece.  Though the original challenge calls for all the images to follow some sort of theme, Is-ness's version will not require it (only strongly encourage it).  I am also not setting a time limit for myself, though I'd LIKE to have this finished in 2 to 5 years.  So, without further ado, I present my list of 100 Words, in no particular order...:

Sorry that there has not been many artworks since June.  Have been outrageously busy with getting ready for school this semester (am studying abroad in Japan for a year!  Hurray!) and thus have not had time to do much.  And in truth, I probably won't be able to scan any new artwork in while am in Japan (unless I can find a scanner) so there may be yet another LONG absence on my part (which makes me unhappy...)
